First-time setup
Please follow the guide video below to set up the microphone:
1️⃣Use the included 3.5mm TRS to Type-C cable (with a phone label) to connect with smartphones/Tablets with Type-C port (0:04-0:19).
2️⃣Use the included 3.5mm TRS to TRRS cable (with a phone label) to connect with smartphones/Tablets with 3.5mm audio port (00:20-00:35).
3️⃣Connecting with iPhone or iPad with Lightning port (00:36-00:53).
4️⃣Use the included 3.5mm TRS to TRS (with a camera label) cable to connect with Camera (0:54-1:16).
5️⃣Pairing transmitters(mics) and receiver (1:17-1:44).
Part 6: Other functions (02:00-03:49).
1. Check if the adhesive tapes are peeled off from the botton of the microphones and the receiver so they can be actually charged.
2. Put the receiver in the charging case for 0.5-1 hour, whether it can be turned on normally.
3. Use 5V USB power supply like from your computer USB port to connect to the Type-C port at the bottom of the receiver and charge for 0.5-1 hour directly
1. Turn on the mics and receiver to check if they have sufficient power.
2. Press and hold the pairing button on the receiver and mic for about 3 seconds to enter the pairing mode.
Then the indicator on the receiver/mic will flash quickly. If both the blue light of the mics and the white light of the receiver stay, they have paired successfully.
Note: the receiver and mic need to be in the pairing mode at the same time.
3. Use mics and receiver within the line-of-sight recording range: 50m(164ft) in the line of sight.
4. Check if it enables OTG whe it's connected with the USB port on your phone.
1. Make sure the system pairs successfully by checkin if the blue light on the mic is solid on.
If not, follow the "It doesn't seem to pair successfully" question above to pair it up.
2. It may take a few seconds for the App to recognize the device.
3. Try to unplug and plug the receiver back to your device again.
1. Ensure the device has enough power and the adhesive tapes are peeled off from the botton the mics and receiver.
2. Ensure the system pair successfully by checkin if the blue light on the mic is solid on.
If not, follow the "It doesn't seem to pair successfully" question above to pair it up.
3. In order to play the recording, please unplug the receiver from the phone.
No sound
1. Check if the thick phone case causes the poor contact.
2. Make sure that the whole system has sufficient power and mics are not muted.
1. Make sure to use the included 3.5mm TRS-TRRS cable (with a phone label) to connect your Lightning-3.5mm adapter.
2. Check if you plug the TRRS end (three black poles) to your Lightning-3.5mm adapter, but not the TRS end.
3. It is recommended to use a Lightning-3.5mm adapter purchased from Apple.com because of the protocol of the lightning jack.
4. If you happen to have a Type-C to Lightning cable that's also from Apple.com, it will also work.
Just plug the Type-C end into the bottom Type-C port of the M9 receiver, then plug the Lightning end to your iPhone or iPad. Though it's not wireless anymore in this use case.
1. Make sure the system pairs successfully by checkin if the blue light on the mic is solid on.
If not, follow the "It doesn't seem to pair successfully" question above in the "First-time setup" session to pair it up.
2. Ensure that OTG of the phone is turned on.
3. Try to download software like Open Camera to record the audio while filming.
Audio Quality
While using with a camera or device with a dedicated mic jack, the stereo mode will work for sure.
However, in order to have stereo recording on phone or device that has only a 3.5mm combo jack or only USB port, you need to get a Type-C to Type-A/C/Lightning audio cable.
Plug the Type-C end into the bottom Type-C port of the M9 receiver, then plug the other end into the USB-only or 3.5mm combo jack device. Though it's not wireless anymore in this use case.
1. It's better to have both the mics and the receiver fully charged. The low battery power does have impact on the performance
2. Check if the recording range is within 50m(164ft) in the line of sight.
1. Ensure the receiver is connected stably to your device.
2. In order to avoid noise caused by the use of unsuitable cable, it is recommended to use the cable that comes with the M9 for connection.
1. If your voice isn't super soft, try lowering the volume to the middle level.
2. Use mics with the dead cat on to cut some high-frequency power even if it's not the outdoor environment.
3.Don't handhold it but clip it on your shirt.
