Driver Update or Reinstall for your FIFINE mics? Here's When and How

Most FIFINE USB microphones are plug-and-play and do not require a dedicated driver. They use the generic USB audio class driver built into your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux). That means in most cases, you can just plug your mic in and start recording.

When Should You Suspect a Driver Issue?

Mic not recognized by your computer or recording software

No sound or very low input volume

Robotic, distorted, or choppy audio

Audio dropping in and out

Mic disappears from the device list after working previously

Before assuming it's a driver issue, always try these basic steps first:

Try a different USB port (preferably on the back of your PC)

Use a different USB cable

Test the mic on another computer

Check privacy/sound settings to ensure mic access is enabled

If the problem persists, please read on.

How to Update or Reinstall the USB Audio Driver

Windows Users:

Update the Driver

Press Win + X and select Device Manager → Expand Sound, video and game controllers → Right-click FIFINE Microphone (or USB Audio Device) → Update driver  → Search automatically

Uninstall and Reinstall

Go back to Device Manager → Right-click the FIFINE mic → Uninstall device.

Check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".

Unplug the mic. Restart your computer. Plug the mic into a different USB port. Windows will automatically reinstall the generic driver.

In some cases, leftover registry entries from previous audio devices can cause conflicts.

Download the Clean Usb Audio Registry application(unzip password is fifine): https://drive.google.com/file/d/17rLtF_-UV9_hzAlqdBDr4Nl2C-V5aKHr/view?usp=sharing

Run the tool and click Clean → Restart your computer and reconnect the mic.

This often resolves persistent recognition or audio glitches.

Mac users:

MacOS usually handles drivers automatically. If issues occur, try resetting the PRAM or using a different USB port.
