How to Find out What Spoiled Wireless Transmission and Caused Dropout
It can not be denied that wireless system provides great convenience. But just like any other electronics, it is possible to escape from glitch, which is cutout or dropout for a wireless system. What we can do is to help reduce the chances that you will experience a dropout during live. Too many factors will have impact on the performance of a wireless system, especially using outdoors. Minimize the number of variables is the priority.
- Test with only the one that has worst dropout. Turn off the other transmitter in the same systems and other wireless system.
- Check out what happens to the receiver indicator when there is dropout. If your receiver has an RF indicator, did it go off? If yes, it is likely to have wireless interference in your use environment. If no, then the dropout is only related to a broken lapel or head-worn mic).
- Because of the frequency selectable feature of FIFINE wireless system, you can try as many as possible new frequency channels. If you can find a frequency without constant dropout, that means the problem is also related to interference as the gone-off RF light indicates.
- Place antennas of receiver and microphone light of sight in the same room to see if the dropout is caused by by metal object or even just wall. That makes sense because the amount of signal that can be received by their antennas is If it is possible, it will do more good to the reception when you put the receiver up high. So that the signal can avoid the blockage or interference of human body. If the mic starts to work fine, then you know it is the placement issue.
- Run the test on a different location at least 1/2 mile away from the original area. If dropout does not happen anymore, then the problem has to do with the local environment of your venue. Just try turning the electronics and wireless systems off one by one at a time to find the interference source.
- If the mic still drops out, and you have also tied to reset the whole FIFINE system back to factory setting, you are likely to get either a defective transmitter or defective receiver. In that case, you can contact our after-sales service for replacement or repair help.
