No flashy, no garnish

For gaming, it’s not necessary to go all in on the shiny bits to stand out from the rest. Take care of yourself a bit more; you can stay comfortable till the winning of the game, instead of taking off the headset to ease the pressure but missing some important cues.

The AmpliGame H9 could easily be one of the most understated gaming headsets ever made. Apart from the smiley, it may be difficult to tell the differences between a pair of studio headphones. All the hard work was put into the construction and the audio quality.

260g

Lightweight is not necessarily a bad thing; it could also be a massive benefit, especially for an over-ear headset or headphone. Due in large part to the 260g weight, one of the lightest in the range, it kind of disappears on your head.

Lightweight & Comfortability packs a combo punch

The matt ear cups are one of the reasons to make it look low-profile, but it does more than that. You’re going to easily leave the finger oil on them to make it look disgusting after a long time of use.

Though not heavy-duty, it’s far from skimping on the material. The routine job of a pair of decent headsets is to have thick padding and soft pleather, and both of them shall be breathable to some extent.

With a good amount of cushion and a decent size of ear cups, the passive noise cancellation can dampen a bit of the noise from your aggressive keyboard typing and mouse clicking.

What it outdoes the others is hiding inside. There’s no harsh contact with the interior wall, and though it is not the thickest lining, it’s nowhere near letting the driver hit your ears directly. When you put the headset on or off with one hand, your ear will get fewer scratches.

Pathetic boom mic quality as usual headsets? Not even close!

In terms of microphone quality, it’s the same pathetic story that you get from most budget headsets? Not really, at least not in the case of this AmpliGame H9. It is the heritage of the bloodline of FIFINE, being a microphone manufacturer, that the input audio should be one of the best in the bunch. It steers around the common pitfalls of a boom mic from headsets, no bass no body, and excessive highs to make you sound thin, harsh, and robotic. The warm tone is the rarest thing that you can find in a boom mic. But it’s not so muddled that your friends can identify your voice from the game with their bassy headset.

The redeeming feature of a condenser mic with such a small capsule is the background rejection. No USB desktop condenser mic can deal with the noises of keyboard typing, mouse-clicking, and computer fans blowing all together.

Flexible & Detachable Mic

The arm of the boom mic is pretty flexible, but no matter how you fiddle it around, the position is quite spot-on; it’s just right at the side of your mouth. Thus, much of the air can’t blow directly into the capsule, when you speak out the cue loud and fast, which is the culprit of the annoying plosives and harshness.

The detachable feature is not missing. You don’t have to worry too much about the mic arm getting loosened and you struggling to get it in place in the near future. You can remove the boom mic when you’re not using it or just replace it when the arm is not as stiff as it used to be, without ditching the whole headset.

Pull out the Ace up your sleeves now!

No fancy lighting can be found on this pair of headsets since it carries a signal through its 3.5mm connector. With a TRRS 4-pole jack plug, you can game and chat on nor just on a PC or a laptop, but also console controller, steam deck, or even a mobile. But to be honest, that’s what you could expect from every pair of headsets.

The Ace up the sleeves hasn’t been shown up until now! It’s not all analog, with the included USB audio dongle, the whole headset comes into another league in terms of the audio quality it refines. It’s not an overstatement at all, this teeny-tiny box could be quite useful at preventing audio from getting interfered with when the motherboard of your PC is way too noisy. It does a much better job than the internal sound card of your PC in terms of signal conversion.

The enhancement provided by the USB sound card doesn’t just stop at the clean audio, but also the emulated 7.1 surround sound, as well as the volume control of the headset and boom mic. 7.1 is the slight sound expansion, adding a little bit of extra environment. If you’re not a huge fan of it, then shut it down. It’s just never a bad thing to have options to choose between, especially when they don’t come at a high cost or they’re the only feature that you paid a few bucks for. The external analog-to-digital conversion alone could make it a worthwhile add-on.

Get more comfort, survive longer in the game

Plus a pair of good sealing ear cushions, the sound stage is very close off. But it’s not close to the muddy sound that you would normally get from the 3.5mm wired gaming headset.

That means you can submerge into the intensive audio atmosphere of competitive shooting games. You don’t just hear the gunfire, they seem to have a real body to you. Almost no harshness or distortion, even if you max out the volume.

But at the same time, the mid and bass don’t muddle and mess up the enemies’ footsteps, and make you fail to get on alert right away. You can even enhance the highs a little bit by enabling the 7.1 surround sound.
