SC3 Beefed up in the Most Important Bits

If you have heard of FIFINE AmpliGame SC3, then you can definitely get the idea of this upgraded model. It’s not just that skin-deep improvement to add a bit more flavor to the already well-served headset enhancement or XLR mics’ complement, the game/chat mix dial, the optical input, the software literally makes it the spot-on gear for gaming party chat and live streaming. It’s all about making up for what the SC3 is short of and transferring it from just an RGB audio mixer to something that can actually work wonders for gaming and streaming.

A Proper Audio Mixer Dressed Up in Gaming Costume

For those who haven’t had their eyes on the SC3 or any kind of gaming mixer before, it dresses up the traditional mixer, not interfaces, but those old-fashion mixing boards with a headset jack on it, and spices it up with some playable audio gimmicks. Though the SC8 comes with a day and night difference in the of look and a completely new set of features, it’s a USB audio device built to make your life easier. The plug-and-play convenient usage on Windows, Mac, PlayStation, Android, IOS and etc is the routine of the SC8 as well.

Pull out all the Stops for Gaming

Optical In

It’s slightly unusual at the back with the optical input, but that’s also where it goes fuller into console gaming. On PlayStation, the optical is for game audio with higher fidelity than USB can handle. You can also use it as a DAC, but no mic input for Xbox, with the optical out from your TV to the SC8. Alongside it is the Aux in, in case you want to mix audio from your phone or laptop instead of the console. But a reminder here that the SC8 doesn’t mix both inputs; even if you plug in both, the Aux in takes priority.

Optical Setup on PS4/PS5

And it doesn’t stop at the optical to get into the character of the full-on PlayStation audio enhancement. A switch to toggle between PC and PS4 to allow you to use the chat mix feature while getting better game audio through the optical jack. With USB of the SC8 connected to the PS4 console and the optical into the SC8, on the audio settings, you can uncheck the option to send all audio through HDMI and tick the box to send the voice chat audio to headphones, then, you can use the game chat dial to have a more precise balance between the game background and the cue.

Raise the Game of Your Old Headset

Then it comes to another nice touch to serve as the headset DAC, the mic monitoring, or the more-known-to-gamers feature, side-tone. With the last puzzle in the bag, you’re pretty much fully raised the game of your headset to relive it for your growing needs today without ditching it.

But Doesn't Skimp on Recording

50dB Gain & 48V Power for XLR Mics

It doesn’t matter if you’re not a hardcore console gamer; the balanced XLR port that provides 50dB gain for quite a lot of dynamic mics out there and the 48V phantom power for every condenser mic, combined with a 3.5mm headphone jack to hear your pro mic sound in real time, may still buy you a surprise.

Add More Vibe and Swagger to Your Studio

The literal game-changers are hiding from the back; in contrast, you can’t help to notice the look at first glance. It’s not meant to be tucked away, but to sit right in the middle of your table and to be a showpiece. What grows up are not just the number of features, but also the size and the weight. Despite being plastic, they make it stand stiller even when you turn the dial out of the sudden if you use a SC3 before. If not, then you can enjoy more of the user-friendly touch of the SC8 for its angled design. And thanks to the larger front panel, it’s easier to check up with just a glance and to make changes with more precise adjustments.

The panel itself is not just easy to read, but is pretty self-explanatory without requiring a full user manual on how to operate all the buttons and dials. And with the RGB indicators, you will have a clear idea of what you’ve enabled and whether you’re clipping the audio.

Game/Chat Mix
for Your Best Game Comms Ever

The biggest dial is not the main output control as you may usually see on an audio interface, but one of the SC8’s signature features, the knob to balance the volume ratio between game and chat. While the small one right beside it is the line-out and USB out volume control. It also means that the SC8 may let you down if you’re expecting to use it for dual PC or PC & Console streaming. It still doesn’t do a good job on that aspect despite the help of software.

If you’re a single PC/Console gamer/streamer, the dial itself should cheer you up a little bit with its handy press-down-to-mute functionality, and the LED illuminates red or green around the wheel to indicate the status.

Physical Plugin of Voice-changers
for Your PlayStation Consoles

There are more reasons to it than just the chat mix to balance between your comms and the game, if you haven’t experienced our SC3 before. What stands out is the voice-changer, which is super fun, especially if you always do a lot of scamming with your friends. And it’s not a feature worth a mention on PC, but if you’re a console gamer, it’s a different story, for no voice effects can be added.

BS 7.1? Not Exactly. Or Have A Try on Different EQs?

If you want to bother tweaking a customized EQ curve depending on the sound signature that you prefer or your headphone lacks, then just summon the FIFINE genie to give you a hand. If not, with all these pre-set built-in sound effects, you don’t have to worry about downloading any drivers or doing anything in-game.

For games that don’t really require precise audio, the surround sound or music mode is a nice fun factor to expand your audio environment and make it more distant. A fantastic feeling to open world games.

Yes, don’t expect the 7.1 effect can do you much good in FPS games, you might as well switch to game mode to feel more of the body of bomb explosion or get more punchy gunshot sound in Battlefield. Or forget the EQ button to enjoy the true character of the SC8 or your headsets/headphones. Especially when you’re listening to the mic audio in real-time, the last thing you want is for your teammate or audience to hear quite a different mic sound than you did.

24-bit Bit Depth for ADC

How can I possibly make it a better headset with all these garnishments? Because the Ace is still up the sleeves, and not just your headset could benefit from it, but most importantly, your XLR mic, since basically it’s still a proper audio interface at the very beginning but spiced up with some more gaming-focused highlights. The 24-bit bit depth makes all the difference. Even though it’s still down to the input gear that you use, at least it provides more dynamic range and contains more info, which could already be noticeable for you or your audience to discern when recording game commentary video or especially use it for some proper podcast or voice-over.

38mW@32ohms Output Power for DAC

It’s a more appropriate ADC now, how could the DAC comes without any changes? It’s not for the audiophile-grade headphones, nor headphone with a rather low sensitivity, but for gaming headphones or headsets, it’s sort of a powerhouse compared to the SC3, which outputs 38mW@32ohms, which is more than double that of the SC3. Or put it in this way that it drives your gaming headset perfectly well without introducing too much harshness that you normally hear at loud volume through your PC’s internal sound card, but overall smooth presentation. If you’re just taking it as an external sound card to bypass crappy, noisy audio from the headphone port of your PC, then it actually does more than that.
